Bluebonnet goes mobile with free app for smartphones

Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative’s members can now access their account information while on the go through a free mobile app available for Apple’s iPhones and Google Android smartphones. The app enables Bluebonnet’s residential and commercial members to track energy consumption, securely pay bills, report and view power outages and receive important information on their smartphones.

“Our mobile app is another powerful tool our members literally have at their fingertips to manage their energy use and potentially save money on their electric bills,” said Mark Rose, Bluebonnet’s general manager. “Now, no matter where they are – the athletic field, the back porch, or the back pasture – our members can access their accounts and do nearly everything they can do on our website.”

Bluebonnet incorporated the best, most popular features from its website into the new mobile app, including daily energy-use details, secure bill pay and outage maps, plus a quick, convenient way to report outages. It’s intuitive and easy to use. The development of the mobile app is part of Bluebonnet’s commitment to provide its members with the latest technology and tools, and to provide the best and most effective service.

The app is initially available for the Apple iPhone (versions 4.0 and higher) and Google Android smartphones (operating systems 2.2 and higher). To download the free app, search for Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative in the iTunes App Store or Google Play.
